Daniel “Dr. Dan” Mendel, PhD

Daniel “Dr. Dan” Mendel, PhD, is a psychotherapist with 15 years of clinical experience. He specializes in anxiety and phobias, adolescent concerns, adult depression, grief, adjustment disorders, and family conflict and dysfunction.

Dr. Dan began his career in public schools, providing critical therapy to at-risk youth to keep them engaged in education and out of the justice system. A 2015 internship at a mental‑health and substance‑abuse treatment center deepened his commitment to guiding individuals toward recovery and lasting well‑being.

Now at Lionhearted Counseling, Dr. Dan practices Solution‑Focused Therapy, helping clients gain insight, shift perspectives, and tackle problems in the here and now to build healthier futures. As an integrative clinician, he tailors every treatment plan to each client’s unique needs.

He holds a BA and an MS in Clinical Psychology from New York University and a PhD in Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University.
