Yehudis Smith, MSW, Clinical Social Work Intern | IFS Practitioner
Yehudis Smith is a dedicated and compassionate therapist committed to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. She earned her Master of Education in Curriculum Design from California State University, Bakersfield, initially focusing on education. Over time, she discovered a deeper passion for mental health and pursued a Master of Social Work at Wurzweiler School of Social Work.
Drawing on her background in both education and social work, Yehudis approaches therapy from a multifaceted perspective. She is extensively trained in couples and family therapy and integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities to best meet her clients’ needs.
As a Certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) practitioner, Yehudis uses this transformative approach to help clients understand and heal the emotional dynamics within themselves. She also incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Somatic Experiencing, providing a holistic, flexible therapeutic process.
Deeply believing in the connection between mind, body, and soul, Yehudis is a certified yoga instructor through Yoga Alliance. This training guides her to emphasize body awareness and mindfulness in her work, empowering clients to foster both emotional and physical well-being. She values the trust her clients place in her, collaborating with them to create personalized therapeutic goals and pathways to healing.
Outside of her professional life, Yehudis enjoys biking and exploring nature with her husband and their children. These outdoor adventures, coupled with time spent together as a family, bring her a sense of balance and peace—a core value she strives to cultivate for her clients as well.
